Spring Greens

Looking up at green White Oak leaves

Bleeding Heart leaves after a rain

Fuzzy mounds of moss among the leaf litter

The colorful flowers in spring are dazzling to the eye, but the winning color has to be green.  It's everywhere in so many fresh and new shades.

HAPPY 57th!!!

Today is my husband's birthday.  To celebrate his special day, I baked his favorite carrot cake with cream cheese frosting topped with walnut bits and sprinkles, of course!  Even though the cake can be clearly seen in the first photo, I posted the second, as I think Kevin would like it better since it looks like it has laser beams pointing to it  :)

Volunteers

Some of the loveliest flowers in our garden and yard are those that came along on their own.  Maybe a seed drifted on the wind and landed in the soil, or perhaps a bird left a seed behind.  No matter how they got here, we are always so pleased to see the surprise volunteer flowers.
