Sure Sign of Spring

There's no truer harbinger of spring's arrival than the robin.  These cheerful birds are visiting our yard in search of earthworms, their favorite meal.  They stand still with heads cocked towards the ground listening for the worms below and quickly pull their squiggly meal from the loose earth.

Last year's cub arrives in our backyard.

Checking out the peach tree for something juicy.

This place has no snacks!!!

Nothing More Magical ...

... than a rainbow!!!

Fresh Start

The snow is long gone and warm days are upon us again.  Spring officially began on March 20th this year.  Our peach tree is celebrating spring's fresh start by opening its pale pink blossoms.  We are so ready for spring greens to take over winter's grays!

False Start

For a while, it seemed as if winter had passed us by with just a whisper and spring had arrived early.  That all changed last evening when a gentle snow began falling and continued through the night.  We awoke to a world of white this morning ... a 14 inch carpet of freshly fallen snow covered the land!

This morning's new blanket of fluffy white snow

Love Was Their Religion

Today, as I was flipping through a catalog, I came across a poster that caught my attention. It had a powerful message from which I believe we could all benefit.  The author of this passage is unknown (at least to me!)

Buddha was not a Buddhist.
Jesus was not a Christian.
Muhammad was not a Muslim.
They were Teachers who taught Love.
LOVE was their religion.
