Coming Along ...

Spring is always a bit slow to start, with lots of starts and stops before it's finally here. Our yellow daffodils bring forth the first bright color after a long, somber winter of gray ... a welcome sight!

For now, the chipmunks are no where to be seen.  The deep snow keeps them hidden away in their cozy underground dens.  Our cats miss watching them scurry across our back porch, cheeks stuffed with seed.  I miss seeing them, too, which inspired me to paint the little guy above.

Still Going Strong

The sunshine coming through our windows today lit up the emerald green leaves of my bamboo plant. My daughter gave me this plant as a gift about 10 years ago. It started as a tiny plant about 3 inches high. Now, it stands about 2 feet tall ... and with only sun and water it's still going strong!
